BRISTOL DIVING SCHOOL
Bristol Diving School is the name of a building & artist collective. The collective exercises many bodies of practice, with various projects, research and events taking place across multiple sites. 'Bristol Diving School Presents: WORKSHOP' is a contemporary art workshop series for young adults which has been running since 2011.

Programme

BRISTOL DIVING SCHOOL Presents: WORKSHOP is an 8 week project in association with Merchants' Academy School and DAC Beachcroft, which aims at providing an extra curricular art program for students outside of the classroom.

The project objective is to provide the students with a greater insight into contemporary art practice in an active creative environment where BRISTOL DIVING SCHOOL members and Merchants' Academy BTEC students can develop and discuss work that will culminate in a final exhibition at both BRISTOL DIVING SCHOOL and the DAC Beachcroft space.

Each workshop will follow from the previous week and will vary in its content to build up a body of contemporary work that is continuously developing through documentation and discussion.

Blog for Students

The purpose of this Workshop program is to assist the participating BTEC art students in their development and understanding of contemporary art practice. This blog acts as a virtual archive of each session, with a brief descriptive text as a guide for the participants and other visitors.



Each session is categorised as an independent page tabbed below the Workshop header. Here, the students can access the artists and other references presented in each session to help support both their engagment with the workshops but also their academic studies in the final year of education at comprehensive level.
